LaTeX - Introduction into the typesetting system

LaTeX (pronounced LAH-tekh) is a typesetting system that allows text authors to easily typeset their document in a professional typographical manner by using templates.

The advantage of LaTeX is that the user is only concerned with the content of the text and does not have to worry about formatting. Things such as table of contents, image and tab numbering and headlines are controlled automatically and do not cause problems with large documents.

One of the main reasons why LaTeX was created is to simplify and streamline the typesetting of mathematical formulas.

In this course, you will learn the basics you need to know to work with LaTeX.
