Microsoft SharePoint: Managing your UZH-intranet site

This advanced training builds on the basics, focusing on organizing documents, lists, and libraries, customizing UZH-Intranet pages with SharePoint Web Parts, and managing permissions, sharing, and workflows to enhance collaboration.  
 
By the end of this hand-on course, participants will understand the core features of SharePoint Online for effective content management required for UZH-Intranet, including organizing documents, lists, and libraries. They will learn how to use SharePoint Web Parts to customize and build dynamic, user-friendly pages using UZH-Intranet templates. Participants will gain the skills to manage permissions, content sharing, and workflows to enhance collaboration and document governance. They will also troubleshoot common issues and apply best practices for maintaining content and Web Part functionality. Overall, this course will equip learners with tools to optimize SharePoint Online for effective communication with a broad audience. 
 
You may take this advanced course if you already have attended the basic course or if you already have working experience in SharePoint Online.

Participants should have a basic understanding of SharePoint Online and some hands-on experience (e.g. navigating SharePoint, synchronising and sharing files) as taught in the SharePoint Basic courses. You will also need a computer and a Microsoft 365 account from the University of Zurich.
SharePoint Online site owners and content managers of UZH-Intranet who have already attended the SharePoint Basic course or who already have experience working with SharePoint Online.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to: 
  • Effectively organize and manage SharePoint documents, lists, and libraries effectively to streamline content access and collaboration. 
  • Customize SharePoint pages using Web Parts and manage permissions, workflows, and content sharing to improve team productivity and document governance. 
After the course, the participants will receive the slides, labs and access to the test environment.
In this hands-on course, you will learn practical examples of how to effectively manage and design your UZH intranet site in SharePoint.
